03-D Historic Pres (3/03/03)MINUTES Monday March 3, 2003 Meeting Historic Preservation Commission City of Paris, Texas Room 1206, Applied Technology Building, Paris Junior College, 4:00 PM Item One: The meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, chairman, at 4:00 PM. Item Two: The roll was called ~y Paul Denney, Recording Secretary. Stle Lancaster seconded the motion and the motion was approved unanimously. Item Four: Tommy Haynes presented review comments from Larry Schenk, City Attorney, of the proposed rules and procedures for the Historical Preservation Commission. Discussion followed. Item Five: After discussion, Barbara Wilson made a motion to give the Commission chairman anthority to set public hearing protocol. Claudia Hunt seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimoosly. Page 1 of 2 March 3, 2003 Meeting Item Six: Sue Lancaster made a motion that property owner notification letters be postmarked no later than March 20, 2003 for review at the April 3, 2003 public hearing. Jerry Raper seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. Item Seven: Barbara Wilson updated tbe Commission on her research on potential }qi.qtorical Surve5 grants and firms that provide these services h x~as generally agreed lhat Barbara x~ould COl~tintle bcr research and report back to the Commission at a later time. Item Eight: Sue Lancaster, Claudia Hunt and Barbara Wilson each reported to the Commission in regard to the Texas Historical Commission regional conference beld in Denton, Texas, February 28, 2003. Item Nine: Tommy Haynes, Director of Community Development for the City of Paris, explained tl~e issues to be discussed at the next called meeting, Wednesday, Marcb 12, 2003 at the Santa Fe-Frisco Depot.
