Item One: The meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, chairman, at 4:00 PM.
Item Two: The roll was called by Paul Denney, Recording Secretary. The following Commission
members were present:
Arvin Starrett
Ann Rogers
Paul Denney
Claudia Hunt
Jerry Raper
Barbara Wilson
Beeki Norment
The following Commission members were absent:
Linda Ryan
Sue Lancaster
The following guest was recognized:
Susie Harper
Item Three: Commission members discussed the April 3, 2003 public hearing. It was noted that the
proposed downtown historic overlay district would be presented at the May 5, 2003 Planning and Zoning
Commission meeting.
Item Four: Commission members discussed four historic surcey proposals. Four firms presented
proposals for consideration. These were: Diane Williams, M ry Salterelli, SWCA and Architexas.
Item Five: Commission members discussed possible action to request approval from the City Council to
apply for a grant from the Certified Local Government Division of the Texas Historical Commission to
pay for an updated Historic Survey. It was noted that Community Development Director, Tommy
Haynes will be asking for a $25,000.00 line it'em in the upcoming budget year for the activities of the City
&Paris Historic Preservation Commission. The motion was made by Barbara Wilson to table action on
this item. Becki Norment seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.

Item Six: Barbara Wilson made a motion to adjourn. Claudia Hunt seconded the motion. The motion
carried ~nanimously.
