RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH NORTH LAMAR
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROVISION OF SCHOOL
RESOURCE OFFICER SERVICES DURING THE 2003-2004 SCHOOL
YEAR; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO
THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the North Lamar Independent School District has requested School Resource
Officer services throughout the 2003-2004 school year at NLISD campuses, and the City Council
is agreeable to providing such service; and,
WHEREAS, thc form of the Intergovernmental Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris should be authorized to
execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That thc findings set out in the preamble to this resolution arc hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement with the North Lamar
Independent School District, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for School Resource Officer services
throughout the 2003-2004 school year at NLISD campuses, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, the Intergovernmental Agreement with the North Lamar Independent
School District, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached
hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT

THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, acting by and
through its Mayor, Curtis Fendley, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, and the NORTH
LAMAR INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, acting by and through its Superintendent,
James Dawson, duly authorized, hereinafter called NLISD, do hereby contract and agree as
follows:
1. CITY agrees to provide School Resource Officer Services to all NLISD
campuses during the 2003-2004 school year.
2. For and in consideration of the services described above, NLISD agrees to pay
to CITY the sum of Sixty-eight Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($68,000.00) for
the services to be provided under this agreement.
3. The term of this agreement shall be for the 2003-2004 school year.
Executed on the dates shown in the acknowledgments below.
