A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE HOUSING BOARD FOR THE OWNER-OCCUPIED HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris has over a period of several years been receiving grants under the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Texas Home Investment Partnership Program, Owner-Occupied Housing Assistance Program; and, WHEREAS, one of the requirements of the said grant is the establishment of a Housing Board; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of June, 1997, in Resolution No. 97-059, establish the Housing Board for the Owner-Occupied Housing Assistance Program; and, WHEREAS, a vacancy now exists on the Housing Board for the Owner-Occupied Housing Assistance Program for the current grant program due to the resignation of Maria Pope as a City employee, and the appointment of Melba Harris to serve as Ms. Pope's replacement should, in all things, be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the appointment of Melba Harris to the Housing Board for the Owner- Occupied Housing Assistance Program be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 8th day of December, 2003.
