1. The Paris Economic Development Corporation and Airport Advisory Board Subcommittee
meeting was called to order by Shawn Napier, Airport Director, at 4:05 p.m.
A. The following members were present: Chris Fitzgerald, Rebecca Clifford, Jack
Ashmore, Sue Lancaster, Erik Roddy and Stephen Grubbs.
B. The following members were absent: William Tolleson.
C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Airport Director; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager;
Ashley Fendley, City Staff and Lauren Corbell, Paris News.
2. Election of Officers:
A. Chairman — Motion was made by Sue Lancaster to nominate Jack Ashmore for
Chairman. Jack Ashmore was elected by acclamation.
B. Vice - Chairman — Motion was made by Rebecca Clifford to nominate Sue
Lancaster as Vice - Chairman. Sue Lancaster was elected by acclamation.
3. Approval of minutes from previous meeting (January 6, 2014).
Motion was made by Rebecca Clifford, seconded by Sue Lancaster to approve the meeting
minutes for January 6, 2014. Motion carried 4 -0.
Stephen Grubbs arrived at 4:15 p.m.
4. Report from Airport Board.
Shawn Napier presented to the subcommittee a list positives and negatives from the
Airport Advisory Board regarding the Cox Field Airport.
Positives
• A Master Plan is being created to bring water and sewer services to Cox Field.
• Land available (see Master Plan map for locations and acreages)
• Runway availability
• 3 Runways: a 6,000 foot lighted main runway and two 4,625 foot crosswind
runways with complete parallel taxiway system
• No Landing fees
• Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) on Runway 17 -35
• Incentives (to be determined by joint committee)
• Fly -Ins
• Fuel Sales (100LL and jet -A fuel)
• Terminal Building with conference room and pilots lounge
• Proposed 10 -unit T- Hangars to be constructed in 2015
Negatives
• No City sewer available at the moment
• No local support
The Paris Economic Development Corporation and Airport Advisory Board
Subcommittee requested a side by side chart of Exhibit 1 E of the Cox Field Airport
Master Plan. This chart should include land available for development if possible.
Chris Fitzgerald arrived at 4:35 p.m.
5. Discussion concerning future development incentives and marketing Cox Field.
Shawn Napier presented to the subcommittee information compiled by John Godwin, City
Manager concerning Development at the Cox Field Airport. Also, Shawn presented a brief
discussion on Phase I, II and III of the Airport Development Project. The Paris Economic
Development Corporation and Airport Advisory Board Subcommittee discussed
contacting AgPro for information on companies that might be interested in the Cox Field
Airport.
