RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PURCHASE
ORDER FOR ONE (1) AMBULANCE THROUGH THE TEXAS LOCAL
GOVERNMENT PURCHASING COOPERATIVE; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
February, 2003, in Resolution No. 2003-047, elect to be a Cooperative Member in the Texas Local
Government Purchasing Cooperative, a program created by local governments in accordance with
and pursuant to the Interlocal Cooperation Act ("Act"), Chapter 791, Texas Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City of Paris purchase an ambulance
replacement for Medic 6 through said Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative; and,
WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the City Manager be authorized to execute
a purchase order for one (1) 2004 Ford F350 Type 1 Ambulance for a total purchase price of
$86,890.00, which represents the cost of the ambulance, which is $95,790.00, plus the cost of the
Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative fee, which is $800.00, less the value of the City's
trade-in, which is $9,700.00; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute,
on behalf of the City of Paris, a purchase order for one (1) 2004 Ford F350 Type 1 Ambulance for
a total purchase price of $86,890.00, which represents the cost of the ambulance, which is
$95,790.00, plus the cost of the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative fee, which is
$800.00, less the value of the City's trade-in, which is $9,700.00.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

The resolution to authorize the purchase of an ambulance for the CiD' of Paris
EMS has been placed on the agenda for the City of Pads CiD, Council on
Monday, January 12, 2004.
The ambulance being purchased is a 2004 Ford F-350 Type I manufactured by
Wheeled Coach, Inc.
The ambulance being traded in is a 1997 Ford F-350 Type I with 106,541 miles.

Sub-total 86,090
Purchasing Cooperative Fee 800
Final Price: 86,890
Therc are sufficient funds in Acct.# 01-1004-54-99 for this purchase. Ali of
the ambulances currendy in service xvith Paris EMS are the same sD, lc and
manufacturer as the proposed purchase. I recommend that the purchase be
approved.
