The Paris Economic Development Corporation and Airport Advisory Board Subcommittee
meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Jack Ashmore, Chairman.
A. The following members were present: Chris Fitzgerald, Rebecca Clifford, Jack
Ashmore, Sue Lancaster, William Tolleson, Erik Roddy and Stephen Grubbs.
B. Also present was John Godwin, City Manager; Shawn Napier, Airport Director;
Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; Shannon Barrentine, Interim Executive Director,
PEDC; Ashley Fendley, City Staff and Lauren Corbell, Paris News.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting (April 8, 2014).
Motion was made by Stephen Grubbs, seconded by William Tolleson to approve the
meeting minutes for April 8, 2014. Motion carried 5 -0.
Rebecca Clifford arrived at 4:03 p.m.
Erik Roddy arrived at 4:05 p.m.
3. Discuss presentation by John Godwin, City Manager of proposed Land Use Planning and
proposed Airport PD Zoning.
John Godwin, City Manager presented to the committee the proposed Land Use Planning
and proposed Airport PD Zoning. Mr. Godwin spoke about the following:
• Designed land use plan /zoning district
o Safety
o Airspace protection
o Land use of special concern
o Environmental consideration
o Land use sub -zones
• Subzones
o Al- the airport, hangar, shop etc.
o A2- use the airport
o A3- warehouse
o A4- un- annexed
o A5- retail, restaurants and shops
4. Review and discuss Development of Cox Field Airport plan.
John Godwin, City Manager presented to the subcommittee the airport purpose, private
development, development policy, partnerships and incentives for the Cox Field Airport.
The Paris Economic Development Corporation and Airport Advisory Board
Subcommittee were pleased with the information provided.
