03-B Bldg&Standard (03/15/04) MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION Monday, March 15, 2004 4:00 P.M. 1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 4:07P.M. Roll was called. A. B. The following members were present: Chad Brown Patrick Brown Grad Arcber Harrell Tippitt Greg Wilson The following members were absent: Tommy Robinson Mark Rothfuss Lucius Joe, Jr. Ward Hal1 Mary Crumpler PIke Burkhart 2. Approval of Minutes of February 16, 2004: A motion was made by Harrell Tippitlto approve the meeting minutes, and Chad Brown seconded thc motion, The motion carried unanimous1y. 3. I'ublic hearing to consider presentations by Code Inspector of the City of Paris, and owner(s) and / or lien holders of the below listed properties whkh have been given notice of a violation of City Ordinance that structures need to be demolished because of fire damage: A. (;024'10 Street N.E., Lot 31, City Block 60 There were no comments from the audience conccming lhis property, Patrick Brown made a motion that the building bc demolished wIthin 30 days with a $1000 pcr day civil penalty and, if the huilding is not demolished within the 30 day tIme period. the City wil1 demolish the building. Chad Brown seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Greg Wilson seeonded the motion. The motion caITied unanimously. c. 3433'" Street S.£., Lot 1, City Block 117 Mrs. Connie Justice was present She stated that the buiJding hJd been demolished and all debris had been removed. Greg Wilson made a motion that no action be taken, as Mrs. Justice had complied with the request of Code Enforcement and demolished Ihe building. Harrell Tippitt seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. D. 436 W.Provine Street, Lot 11, City Block 99 There were no comments from the audience concerning this property. Patrick Brown made a motion that the building be demolished within 30 days with a $1000 per day civiJ penalty and, if the building is not demolished within the 30 day time pcriod, the City will demolish the building. Greg \Vi1son seconded the motion. The motion caniec! unanimous1y. E. 653 4(h Street ~.W., Lot 10, City Block 89-A There were no comments from the audience concerning this propcrty. Cìreg Wilson made a motion that the buiJding be demolished within 30 days WJth a $1000 per day civiJ penalty and, if the building is not demolished within the 30 day time period, the City will demolish the buiJding, Harrell Tippitt seconded the motion, The motion carried unanimously 4. Status of the properties that the Commission has issued orders. Lisa Wright addressed the Commission and stated that she wou1d distribute this vcry lengthy report by e-maiJ to each of the commissioners. S.
