MINUTES
TRAFFIC COMMISSION
City of Paris
The Traffic Commission met in regular session, Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at
5:15 P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present:
1. Ed Ellis 4. Mary Lane
2. George Robinson 5. Ed Seidle
3. George Kimbrough
The city staff was represented by Chief of Police Karl Louis and Assistant
Chief of Police James Barnett.
Chairman George Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:15 P.M.
The Minutes of the February 3, 2004, meeting were approved as submitted.
Consideration of a request for turn lanes to be installed on North Collegiate
Drive at various intersections were the topic. Ed Ellis made a motions that
the requests at the intersections be combined. Mary Lane seconded and the
motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays.
Chief Louis explained the reason for the requests was the fact that traffic
was backing up on Collegiate at Pine Mill Road and E. Cherry Street. He
and the City Engineer and Director of Public Works had studied the problem
and felt that turn lanes would help keep the traffic moving. A map was
presented showing the turn lanes.
After discussion Ed Ellis made a motion that turn lanes be installed
beginning 100 ft. South of East Cherry Street, North to 100 ft. North of
Ridgeview Drive, and on Pine Mill Road, beginning 100 ft. East of
Collegiate Drive, West to Collegiate Drive. Ed Seidle seconded and the
motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 5:20 P.M.
