10. Public hearing regarding re-adoption of an ordinance adopting Article III to
Chapter 21 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris entitled "CurFew
Ordinance for Children."
11. Consideration of and action on the following ordinances:
A. Adopting Article III to Chapter 21 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Paris, Paris, Texas, Entitled "CurFew Ordinance for Children"
B. Formalizing the City's status as its own self-contained Risk Pool for
providing health and related coverages to its employees pursuant to
Chapter 172 of the Local Government Code; providing for the
designation of City staff inembers as Trustees for implementing said
Risk Pool.
C. Amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, by
revising Section 7-156 thereof to include the planting of grass, flowers,
shrubs, and trees as "ordinary maintenance;" revising Section 7-157

thereof to provide for the expiration of certificates of appropriateness;
revising Section 7-160 thereof to allow for certificates of
appropriateness in proposed districts in conformance with the United
States Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Rehabilitation of
Historic Buildings; and to require completion of the designation
process by the Commission within 180 days; and repealing Section 7-
161.
12. Consideration of and action on the following resolutions:
A. Approving and authorizing the Regional Controlled Substance
Apprehension Program Drug Task Force to solicit bids for the
competitive sale of firearms and otherweapons confiscated as a result
of the task force's drug interdiction activity, authorizing the solicitation
and acceptance of competitive bids from registered, licensed Federal
Firearms Dealers only.
B. Approving and authorizing the execution of Amendment No. 2 to Texas
Community Development Program Contract No. 719068 with the Office
of Rural Community Affairs.
C. Declaring certain personal property surplus and approving an
Auctioneer Service Agreement.
D. Approving and authoring an application for a grant from the U. S.
Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services,
for funding under the Cops in Schools Grant Program to provide
funding for salary and benefits for a school resource officerfor Chisum
High School.
E. Authorizing the submission of a grant application to the Texas
Historical Commission for a Certified Local Government Grant to
partially fund the completion of an updated Historic Resource Survey
of the City of Paris.
F. Declaring surplus a set of used mechanical scales as part of the
abandoned equipment in the UARCO building and authorizing transfer
of said scales to the Texas Department of Corrections, Buster Cole
State Jail in Bonham, Texas in return for demolition assistance by
inmates.

G. Consideration of and action on consolidating the regular Thursday City
Council Meeting for the Month of June to Monday, June14, 2004, due to
a scheduling conflict.
H. Authorizing and approving the appointment of an Assistant City Clerk.
1. Approving an agreement with Wollack Testing Service for the use of
promotional examinations for police and firefighter personnel pursuant
to the Civil Service Act.
J. Approving and authorizing the expenditure of funds for fiscal year
2003-2004 to pay the cost of training and equipping a Fire Department
HAZ-MAT Mitigation Team.
K. Approving and authorizing the execution of a letter of support for an
application to the Visionaries Program.
L. Approving and authorizing the execution of a professional services
agreement with ArchiTexas for preparation of design guidelines for the
Downtown Historical District.
13. Report on the status of the Police and Courts Facility.
A. Update on project status.
B. Consideration of and action on a resolution approving plans and
specifications for the re-construction and conversion of the UARCO
building to a new Police, Court, and Jail Facility and authorizing the
advertisement for bids for said construction.
