Graduate City Site Assistance Visit
by Wayne Bell
of the Texas Historical Commission
10:00 a.m.
1.Barbara and Pinky Wilson, Arvin Starrett, Karen Wilkerson,
Zack Saffle, Jennifer Long, Kit Lindsey, Marvin Gorley and
Lindsey Harper welcomed Wayne Bell at the Wise House at
10:30 am. Wayne Bell provided background information and
credentials that he had received in his years as a architecture
professor at the University of Texas and now as a staff member
of the Texas Historical Commission.
2.Barbara and Pinky Wilson, Marvin Gorley, Arvin Starrett and
Lindsey Harper toured the Gibraltar hotel. Wayne Bell gave
suggestions and receive background information and history
from Barbara and Pinky Wilson. Afterwards, Bill and Liz
Kirby’s loft was toured by Wayne and there he took pictures to
take back to Austin in order to provide renderings of the
facade for the Kirby’s to take into consideration while
restoring their building. The same was done at the Belford
Apartments and at the bakery/loft adjacent to the Moore Law
Firm, which is owned by Kit Lindsey and Jennifer Long. His
suggestions and ideas were much appreciated by all.
