SUBJECT: CITY ROADS & REPAIRS

BACKGROUND: Dr. Hashmi has requested that we again discuss the status of roads and road
repairs and replacements. The road repair maintenance budgets for the last five years, exclusive
of personnel and equipment costs, plus the current 2014 -15 budget, are as follows:

In addition, last August the council agreed to spend $180,000 from unencumbered fund balance
on streets in three council districts that have especially older roads.
STATUS OF ISSUE: We are currently patching and repairing street surfaces, cleaning roadside
ditches, replacing curb and gutter at various locations, and completing several level -ups. The
annual crack seal program is scheduled to being in mid - January, including both the Trail de Paris
and the Oak Park track.
Chip seal work can be completed only in warm weather, so is scheduled for June and July.
Planned streets include portions of. 13th NE, E. Price, E. Cherry, 16" NE, 14' NE, Pine Bluff,
Walnut, 19th NW, 11th NW, W. Garrett. W. Booth, 6th SE, Old Jefferson, Old Bonham, 13th SW,
Neagle, West Austin, and West Washington.
