TRAFFIC COMMISSION
Tuesday, February 6, 1996

Council Room - City Hall
Paris, Texas
The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, February 6, 1996,
with the following members present:
1. Charles Thompson
2. Ricky Mackey
3. George Robinson
4. Pamela Campbell
5. Mary Lane
The City Staff was represented by Assistant Chief James Barnett.
Chairman George Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:22 P.M. when
a Quarum was present.
The Minutes of the October 3, 1995 meeting were approved as submitted.
The requests for Stop Signs at the following locations were discussed,
1. On 26th NE at E. Cherry Street stopping Southbound traffic on
26th Street at E. Cherry Street.
2. On Aspen Street at FM 195 stopping Northbound traffic on Aspen
at FM 195.
3. On Levi Lane at Stillhouse Road stopping Westbound traffic on
Levi at Stillhouse.
4. On 10th NE at Levi Lane stopping Southbound traffic on 10th NE
at Levi Lane.
5. On 11th NE at Levi Lane stopping Southbound traffic on 11th NE
at Levi Lane.
Charles Thompson made a motion that these requests be combined and
considered in a single motion.. Mary Lane seconded and the motion
carried 5 ayes to 0 nays.
After discussion Mary Lane made a motion to recommend that the Stop
Signs be placed as requested. Pam Campbell seconded and the motion
carried 5 ayes to 0 nays.
There being no furth business the meeting adjourned at 5:28 P.M.

SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY, APRIL 9,1996

The Traffic Commission met in special session Tuesday, April 9,1996
with the following members present:
1. Ed Ellis 4. Mary Lane
2. Pam Campbell 5. Emily White
3. George Robinson 6. Ricky Mackey
The City Staff was represented by Assistant Police Chief James Barnett.
Chairman George Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:17 P.M.
The minutes of the February 6,1996 meeting were approved as submitted.
A request for a traffic signal at North Main Street (U.S. 271 North)
and Stone Avenue was considered. Assistant Chief Barnett explained
that the intersection was studied by the Texas Department of Trans-
portation and does meet the warrants they require. This signal is
to be installed and funded by Tx DOT. North Lamar school superin-
tendent James Dawson appeared and spoke in favor of the request.
After discussion, Ed Ellis made a motion to recommend the installation
of a traffic actuated signal at North Main Street and Stone Avenue.
Ricky Mackey seconded and the motion carried 6 ayes to o nays.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:21 P.M.
