Bill Harris Guests: Edwin Pickle, City of Paris Councilman 3. Approval of august minutes/ motion by BB, seconded by Bill 4. Main Street Manager Report a. Festival of Pumpkins - good feedback, estimate 10,000 Britin says 12,000! Kids games went well, addition of labyrinth and free kids games along Clarksville Street. Vendors were happy, music worked well, Zombie walk raised 3K for food pantry and about 250 for walk, 30 people donated blood. Cheri shared thanks to traffic, sanitation and parks department for their wonderful job decorating the plaza. They built archways and lots of photo opts. Matt pointed out what a great job Cheri did; this was seconded by all board members. Britin mentioned how smoothly the festival went from a logistics perspective. The promotions committee did a great job organizing the activities. Edwin asked if they used the trolley, - they could ferry people to the event. Farmer's market photos had 25 people. Kari will have a wrap up meeting on November first at 6 at Green Boutique. Business owners have stated this was the most successful festival for the local businesses. There were the same amount of food vendors, but people still used the local restaurants. Really good feedback on having the kids events grouped together. Strong advertising this year. The bake off was down this year. Freeze off went really well. There was a line the entire time. Over a 100 voters for the freeze off. The city worked really hard on making this event special. Thank you to everyone for their hard work. b. Grand Theater - the front has been abated. The scaffolding will stay for a while. The bottom floor is abated up to the entry to the actual theater. The second story inside is now being worked on. Phase one is close to completion. The 1916 historic pieces will be saved as they move the look to the 1930's c. Peristyle - some sod has been laid. They have to re -grade the Peristyle due to a pooling of water in the middle of the Peristyle. Paul Denny is working on this. Cheri will update later. d. Farmers Market - last weekend of farmers market. Free pumpkins to the first 100 people to decorate. Big weekend planned. It has been a strong season this year and we are looking forward to next year. e. Resignation of Dustin Lindsey and Micheal Cody - two new applicants have already been assigned - Karie Raulston and Casey ressler 5. Committee Reports a. Organization - no report (Cheri has a list of committee goals that Michael and she had established, ready for a new committee chair) b. Design - no report (Cheri - the three bike racks have been placed downtown, special thanks to the lions club for paying for half) c. Promotions - Kari - see the pumpkin festival notes. Bill has requested help from the committee for the Paws dash. d. Economic Restructure - Britin - goal is to establish a new tax code for downtown. ( *see attached email from Britin) e. HPC report - Matt - Britin is the new representative on this committee. Eight agenda items, sign requests, new businesses. Britin presented on the courthouse parking lot to the committee. f. PDA report - Kari Daniel, PDA president - PDA is growing. New businesses downtown as well as a general buzz. Two events on their calendar, networking event at the Skinny Grill and downtown trick or treating on Halloween. g. VCC /Chamber - Becky - no report 6. Future Agenda Items - set a date for the future workshop. Tentative ideas: roofs, insurance, incentives. Come with your ideas at the next meeting. January 20. 7. Adjourn.
