2009MINUTES REGULAR MEETING BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION MONDAY APRIL 24 2009 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. Bill Harris, Chairman called the Building and Standards Commission meeting to order at 4:05 P.M. A. The following members were present: Chris Brown Vicki Ballard Bill Harris Ryan Lassiter B. The following members were absent: Lucius Joe, Jr. Harrell Tippitt Zach Saffle 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (January 20, 2009; February 16, 2009) Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Vicki Ballard to approve the minutes for the January 20, 2009 and February 16, 2009 meetings. 3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures ": A. 901 S. Main; Lot 19, City Block 158 — Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. B. 1305 Pine Bluff; Lot 10, City Block 70 -C— Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. C. 416 E. Grove, Lot 2, City Block 75 -A— Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. D. 8054 th Street N.W.; Lot 1, City Block 99— Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. E. 539 W. Campbell; Lot 14 and 14 -A, City Block 88 -B— Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. D. 513 Graham Street; Lot Part of 2, City Block 44 -A - Motion was made by Zach Saffle, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. E. 540 1" Street N.E.; Lot 3 and 19, City Block 92 — Motion was made by Ryan Lassiter, seconded by Chris Brown, to allow 14 days to secure and 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. F. 602 1" Street N.E.; Lot 5, City Block 92 - Motion was made by Zach Saffle, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish.
