ZONING COMMISSION
DECEMBER 2, 2002
The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, December 2, 2002, 5:30
P.M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room 1016, 2400
Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present:
1. Reeves Hayter
2. Louis Yates, Jr.
3. Marshall Kent
4. Curtis Fendley
5. Bobby L. Myers
Steve Methven, the building official was also present.
The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter.
1. The minutes from the November 4, 2002, regular planning and zoning
meeting were approved with a motion by Bobby L. Myers and
seconded by Louis Yates. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 0
nays.
2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Mack Ross for a change in
zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a One-
Family Dwelling District No. 3 ( SF -3), Lot 3, City Block 294, being the
200 Block of 30' NE.
The public hearing was declared open.
Mack Ross, 3475 Reno, spoke in favor of the petition stating that he
wants to build smaller brick homes that would tie to the property on
Aiken Drive that was rezoned a few months ago. Mr. Ross presented a
plat showing how the properties would tie together. He said that he is
trying to tie all the lots together and make streets with cul -d -sacs.
There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed.

3. Consideration of and action on the petition of Mack Ross for a change
in zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a One -
Family Dwelling District No. 3 ( SF -3), Lot 3, City Block 294, being the
200 Block of 30" NE.
Motion was made to approve by Curtis Fendley, seconded by Bobby L.
Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays.
4. Public Hearing to consider the site plan approval requested by Joe
Chamy, Lot 2, City Block 308, Tract 2, being the 1400 Block of W.
Washington.
The public hearing was declared open.
Joe Chamy spoke in favor of the site plan and requested approval for
the plan.
Jerry Newberry did not oppose the site plan request but asked to see the
site plan. Mr. Hayter allowed the site plan to be shown to Mr.
Newberry. After reviewing the site plan, Mr. Newberry was satisfied.
There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed.
5. Consideration of and action on the site plan approval requested by Joe
Chamy, Lot 2, City Block 308, Tract 2, being the 1400 Block of W.
Washington.
Motion was made to approve by Louis Yates, seconded by Bobby L.
Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays.
