A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRIVATE RE -SALE OF THREE TRACTS OF
TRUSTEE TAX PROPERTIES (EAST PARK ADDITION, BLOCK A,
LOT 12, EAST PARK ADDITION, BLOCK A, LOT 14, AND EAST PARK
ADDITION, BLOCK A, LOT 20) TO MR. KEYON MITCHELL FOR
$675.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE DEEDS;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, 65 tracts of real property (the "Trustee Properties ") were bid off to the City of Paris
as Trustee for itself, Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College at a public tax sale conducted on
January 6, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(i) provides that the Trustee Properties may
be sold by private sale in lieu of a public sale under Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(c) & (d) with
the approval of all taxing units entitled to receive proceeds from the sale, being the City of Paris, Lamar
County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College; and
WHEREAS, Private offers to purchase three of the Trustee Properties have been received by the
City of Paris (the "Private Sale ");
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the City Council of Paris, Texas, that:
Section 1. The offer of Mr. Keyon Mitchell to purchase the following tracts of real property for a
total of $675.00 ($225.00 each) is accepted and the Private Sale is hereby approved:
• LCAD #10966: East Park Addition, Block A, Lot 12,1775 10th NE
• LCAD #10968: East Park Addition, Block A, Lot 14,1785 10th NE
• LCAD #10974: East Park Addition, Block A, Lot 20
Section 2. Subject to the Private Sale also being approved by Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris
Junior College, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a tax deed conveying the Re -Sale Properties to
the Purchaser or designee.
Section 3. The proceeds of the Private Sale shall be distributed in accordance with the Texas
Property Tax Code and the orders of the District Courts of Lamar County, Texas.
