AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD

The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Jack Ashmore, Chairman, at
5:32 A m.
A. The following members were present: Ray Ball, Dennis Ashby, Jack Ashmore
Matt Birch and Chris Fizgerald.
B. The following members were absent: Gary Tolleson and Phillip Payne.
C. Also present was: Shawn Napier, Airport Director; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager;
Ashley Fendley, City Staff; and Kate Kyer, with Kate Kyer Aerobatics.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (November 20, 2014)
Motion was made by Ray Ball seconded by Dennis Ashby to approve the minutes from
November 20, 2014 meetings. Motion carried 4 -0.
3. Discussion regarding the 2015 Fly -In at the Cox Field Airport.
Jack Ashmore stated he has put together a letter to submit to the City Council for funding.
The Airport Advisory Board reviewed the letter and decided that the best time to try to
schedule the fly -in would be May or September. Kate Kyer stated she would love to help
coordinator fly -in for the City of Paris. Mrs. Kyer further stated that to do an airshow the
paper work would need to be submitted forty -five (45) days prior to the event and
advertisement would need to begin about three (3) months prior to the event. The Airport
Advisory Board was very pleased with all the information provided by Mrs. Kyer.
Matt Birch arrived at 5:42 p.m.
4. Report from Shawn Napier, Airport Director.
Shawn Napier stated he has been in contact with TxDOT regarding the 12.5 acres Agpro
is requesting to purchase. Agpro is trying to expand their business for their overseas
cliental. If the purchase takes place the Airport will receive $90,000. The plans for some
of this money will be to crack seal the runways. Mr. Napier further stated that TxDOT
Aviation has their first design meeting on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
regarding the future development of hangars at Cox Field Airport.
S. Discussion regarding Hangar Lease.
Shawn Napier stated he is working with Kent Mcllyar, City Attorney on the hangar lease,
an aircraft related business lease and an industrial /commercial building lease policy. Mr.
Napier further stated he would like to schedule a time with Chris Fitzgerald to review the
lease policies.
6 Request for future agenda items. Report from the Sub - Committee, Hangar Leases and
2015 Fly -In.
7. Meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
