SUBJECT: CHANGE FOR MEETING DATE IN MAY

BACKGROUND: On occasion, the second City Council meeting in May falls on Memorial Day
Holiday and when that occurs the meeting is rescheduled to a different date in May.
STATUS OF ISSUE: May 25 is a regular scheduled meeting date, which is also Memorial Day
Holiday and city offices will be closed on that day. City staff proposes rescheduling the meeting
to May 18. Changing the meeting date will also allow for canvass of the general election, which
falls within the time period prescribed by the State for canvassing the election.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Approve change for the second meeting date in May from May 25 to
May 18.
