18 - UTILITIES BONDS PROJECT UPDATEItem No. 18
memorandum
TO: Mayor & City Council
FROM: John Godwin, City Manager
SUBJECT: UTILITIES BONDS PROJECT UPDATE
DATE: May 29, 2015
BACKGROUND: In December 2013 the city council approved a professional services
agreement with AECOM, in the amount of $4,500,836, to provide engineering and related work
for the 2013 utilities bond projects. The original plan was to divide the work into five medium -
sized projects, each bid separately, but with overlapping timelines. This plan has been changed
twice at council direction, making the sub - projects both bigger and smaller, in an effort to
maximize efficiency and encourage contractor participation.
