City Of Paris Pending Projects
The plans for the year 2015 -2016 are as follows:
Current issues for the city:
Council Issues:
A. Poor communications.
B. Lack of cohesiveness.
C. Division on key issues.
D. Poor performance as a group.
E. Lack of structured program.
F. Poorly informed about ongoing projects.
G. Personal agendas.
Engineering Dept:
A. Poor leadership.
B. Lack of transparency.
C. Complete absence of accountability.
D. Complete disregard of authority.
E. Poor information quality and at times wrong information
given.
City Clerk's Office:
A. Overall well performing office.
B. Needs some more improvement in agenda packets, will
discuss that issue with IT as well.
Code Enforcement:
A. All in all poor performance.
B. No reports to council on details of what was done on a
daily basis.
C. Lack of detailed reports on what are their current issues
and solutions.
D. Discuss more specific approach which is district wise and
specific area wise, with particular reference to city entry
ways.
EMT Services:
A. All in all a well performing department.
B. Need of a deputy chief?
C. Ongoing training update to the council.
D. Development of the new EMT station.
E. Speed of transportation, to be discussed.
F. Innovations in services.
Public Works:
A. All in all good leadership.
B. Completion of the Water and Sewer Bond Project.
C. Development of a roadway resurfacing program and
allocation and approval of fund by the council for road
improvements by specific roads to be done in this
calendar year.
D. Landscaping of entryways to the city.
E. Mowing of entryways to the city by city crew? billable
work.
F. Development of a recycling program that makes money
for the city, even if it requires investment into the
project.
G. Sale of tax delinquent properties including the old Police
Office.
H. Development of drainage improvement plans by specific
districts and allocation of funds for it.
I. Parks and suggestions needed for it, can it be
undertaken as a KPB project.
J. Improvement of road cleaning services.
K. Approval of outside inspection firm to report to CM and
Council on thorough inspection of bond work.
L. Development of a sports facility.
Police Department:
A. Constant loss of officers to other departments,
discuss and act on definitive issues.
B. Statistics of Crimes solved.
C. Improvements of statistics as far s dangerous
cities.
D. Development of newer units: Drug task force K- 9
units.
E. Training update.
F. Minority participation.
G. Sale of property.
H. Improvement in Patrol to distant areas.
Fire Department:
A. All in all working well.
B. New acquisition.
C. Status report on equipment.
D. New fire hydrants in underserved areas.
Water and Sewer Department:
A. Development of a new sewer treatment facility.
