SUBJECT: OPERATIONS PLAN UPDATE/FIRE

BACKGROUND: As part of our annual budgeting /planning process, we try to have each major
department present its needs, priorities, and plans to the council each year to help look at the
budget in a longer, broader view. Fire Chief Larry Wright will make a presentation at the July
13 council meeting.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Significant issues include:
• Replacement engines;
• Bunker gear and SCBA & accountability safety equipment;
• Compensation & turnover.
