SUBJECT: CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR CONTRACT B1 OF THE 2013 CIP
DATE: July 21, 2015
BACKGROUND: Contract B1 of the 2013 Water and Sewer Capital Improvement Program was
awarded to B. Bray Construction in the amount of $2,425,002 at the October 13, 2014 City
Council meeting.
STATUS OF ISSUE: This request involves the request of 93 additional days to be added to the
contract time. The majority (60) of the days are due to weather the other days (33) are because
of additional work. Some of the additional work involved the contractor installing sewer
alongside a fiber optic cable on 19th SW and additional sewer work along NW Loop 286. The
change order amount of $18,030 is because it was discovered that a sewer line must be installed
by open cut across 19th SW (FM 137) rather than by bore. This will be a longer process because
of the TxDOT requirements and will involve closing the road for a few days.
BUDGET: This will be funded from the 35- Million Dollar Bond.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Change Order #I to Contract B 1 of the 2013 CIP.
