SUBJECT: LCAD BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINEES
DATE: September 22, 2015
BACKGROUND: Election of the Board of Directors for Lamar County Appraisal District will
be held prior to the end of December 2015.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Chief Appraiser Jerry Patton has requested that the Council submit their
nominees to the appraisal district by written resolution on or before October 15, 2015 as outlined
in his attached letter.
BUDGET: Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a resolution submitting nominee(s) for the Lamar County
Appraisal District Board.

RE: Election of Board of Directors for 2016/2017 for Lamar County Appraisal
District
The five member board of the Lamar County Appraisal District will be open for
election this year. I am including the number of votes per entity and a list of current
board members and who they represent. Please submit your nominees to the appraisal
district by a written resolution adopted in an open meeting of the governing body on or
before October 15, 2015.
I will provide ballots to all entities on or before October 30, 2015. Each entity shall vote
in an open meeting and submit their determination by resolution to the appraisal district
on or before December 15, 2015. I will send written notification of the results of the
election to each entity before December 31, 2015.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
NOMINATING A CANDIDATE OR CANDIDATES FOR MEMBERSHIP ON
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE LAMAR COUNTY APPRAISAL
DISTRICT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO
THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been asked to nominate a
candidate or candidates for membership on the Board of Directors of the Lamar County
Appraisal District; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to nominate
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That and 'is/are
hereby, nominated to serve as member(s) of the Board of Directors of the Lamar County
Appraisal District.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby, directed to timely deliver a copy of this
Resolution to the Lamar County Appraisal District.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
