SUBJECT: ADULT SOFTBALL AGREEMENT RENEWAL

BACKGROUND: Steve Coker has successfully operated the adult softball leagues for the city
for very many years. The existing agreement expires December 31. In the past we have issued
requests for proposals (RFPs), but have received no other qualified responses.
STATUS OF ISSUE: At this point, we prefer to renew the agreement between the city and Mr.
Coker for an additional three years, or through December 31, 2018, under the same contractual
conditions as now in existence.
BUDGET: The contract requires the league to pay 15% of its registration fees to the city.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize city manager to execute renewal.
