SUBJECT: CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION APPOINTMENT
DATE: November 17, 2015
BACKGROUND: Because our police and fire departments operate under a civil service system,
we are required to have a local three - member civil service commission. Members' terms vary in
length, so do not expire at one time.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Russell Figgins recently completed a three -year term on the Commission
and indicated he wishes to be re- appointed.
BUDGET: NA.
RECOMMENDATION: Re- appoint Russell Figgins to serve on the Commission.
