SUBJECT: LAMAR COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT
DATE: November 23, 2015
BACKGROUND: The city's current representative on the Appraisal District Board of Directors
is Jim Noble. By all accounts Mr. Noble has served well, and has the city's interest at heart. He
does wish to continue to serve on the Board. Based on our current tax levy, the city has 644
votes to cast.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Chief Appraiser Jerry Patton needs the city council to cast its votes at its
December 14 meeting. This is not a straight appointment by the council, but an election by the
taxing jurisdictions based on their tax levies.
BUDGET: NA
RECOMMENDATION: Cast city's votes for Mr. Noble and /or other candidates.
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
CASTING ALL OF THE CITY OF PARIS' 644 VOTES FOR JIM NOBLE FOR
MEMBERSHIP ON THE 2015 -2016 BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
LAMAR COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been furnished a list of the
candidates for membership on the Board of Directors of the Lamar County Appraisal
District; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to cast the City of Paris' 644 votes for Jim Noble;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the City of Paris' 644 votes be, and the same are hereby, cast for
Jim Noble as a member of the Board of Directors of the Lamar County Appraisal District.
Section 3. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, directed to execute the City of
Paris's ballot and deliver the same to the Lamar County Appraisal District.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
