SUBJECT: RETAIL COACH UPDATE
DATE: December 7, 2015
BACKGROUND: The Retail Coach has been working since June 2014 to generate interest in
new retail development in Paris, emphasizing, where practical, businesses that will not compete
directly with existing locally -owned enterprises.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Aaron Farmer has met with the council previously, and we have asked
him to make a brief presentation to the council on December 14 to bring you up to date on his
company's activities. This will also provide the council the opportunity to ask questions directly
of him, though of course some information must remain confidential. If you recall, we are
working in partnership on this project with the chamber of commerce, so Mr. Farmer will also be
meeting that same day with Ken Higdon and the chamber's executive board.
