V. Friends of the Library:
No report from the Friends this month, but Ms. McAnally reported that the Friends group
has approximately $19,000 in its balance. They spend funds in the children's area and could
possibly contribute to the restoration of the Bywaters paintings.
The Board discussed a finding venue other than the library for a luncheon with a speaker,
possibly Reavis Wortham.
VI. Director's Remarks:
Unfortunately, there was a break -in recently at the library in the downstairs staff room; a
television, cable box, and air purifier were taken. Glass was broken in a door to enter the
room, and the glass was taken. The trespassers did not go upstairs. Insurance on the
building has a $1,000 deductible, but there was only about $500 in damages and
replacement costs.
