SUBJECT: PARIS TRANSIT

BACKGROUND: As we have discussed previously, the area COG and United Way have been
working together to get a fixed -route transit system in Paris, hopefully to begin operation in the
spring. The city has agreed to provide some shelter construction assistance and to manufacture
and install route signage.
STATUS OF ISSUE: United Way's April Carl has requested an opportunity to address the
council to request some financial assistance to complete the required local grant match of just
over $100,000, most of which has already been pledged. Ms. Carl will be at the Monday council
meeting to explain the need in more detail, and answer any questions you may have.
