Meeting Minutes
January 20, 2016
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m.
Present:
Board members present were Fran Neeley, Connie Dodd, Denise Komegay, Rebecca Umphrey, Daisy
Harvill, Carol James, and director Priscilla McAnally. Mike Pendleton was absent.
I. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented.
II. New Business:
Roof Repair
There are several leaks that require immediate attention, but the entire roof needs to be
repaired. The cost to repair the entire roof is approximately $40,000. Quality Roofing has
submitted a bid for $11,900 to repair a portion of the roof. Ms. McAnally asked to share the
cost of this partial repair with the Expendable Fund. There are some budget funds for
building and maintenance repair, but there is not enough to cover the roof and other repairs
that could be needed by the end of the budget year.
Motion to use $6,000 from the Expendable Fund was made by Connie Dodd and seconded
by Daisy Harvill. Motion passed unanimously.
III. Old Business:

IV. Presentations
A. Budget Report.
Approximately 50% of the library's materials budget has been spent.
B. Statistical Report.
Both circulation and visits are below last year. Circulation decreased 10.7 %, and visits
decreased by 5.08 %. Volunteer hours and new library cards are up.
V. Friends of the Library:
No report from the Friends this month.
VI. Director's Remarks
Policy review should resume next month.
