1. Call meeting to order -Jill Drake 4:34 pm
2. Role taken. Quorum established.
3. Citizens Forum: none noted.
4. Approval of minutes of January. Motion was made by Phillip Peeples and seconded by Glee Emmite.
The motion carried.
5. Coordinator report: Cheri Bedford
a Centennial Banners installed except Courthouse— this should be soon. Smile billboard will be
installed by Monday, February 8, 2016. Texas Tree Foundation with the cooperation of Atmos
Electric have donated 50 trees and their plantings before the end of March. Committee is looking
to have 50 more trees planted before the end of the year. The trees are $300.00 each with
different trees based on location. Print works designed a Centennial T- Shirt and are selling them
on line. On March 21 st a Noon Ceremony is planned with fire trucks, Plaza will be shut down to
traffic. School children from PISD
and Choir participating. Honor Guard and Bagpipes with a Ceremony Agenda with a
Commemorative Temporary Postal Station with Postal Stamp available. There will also be an
unveiling of a 3D SMILE mobile photo -op and a balloon release.
b. Texas Sidewalk Grant has been awarded to Paris to complete south side on Lamar in front of
Grand Theatre and In front of Swaims Hardware toward Farmers Market. It is a matching grant
with Paris matching with $40,000.00. These grants help toward are National Recognition as it
provides 5 extra points.
Committee Reports —
a. Organization -Jill Drake- no meeting- Grand Theater reclaiming group are taking on a project for
restoring the grand. There is an account for persons to make donations through the Greater Paris
Development Foundation.
b. Design -Glee Emmite- Presented a packet of 6 black and white sketched photos of buildings that did
not survive the Great Fire of Paris 1916 — sale of same will benefit the Grand Theater -same to be
postmarked with Commemorative postmark on day of Ceremony.
a. ER -Ctee Phillip Peeples met and discussed several items that might potentially help downtown
growth See report he presented- -
b. HPC: No report
C. Promotion -Misty Starnes -Wine Fest April 9, 2016 -9 locations set - Tickets went on sale Feb 5 th
- Movies in the Park need sponsors.
d. Chamber- Becky Semple - Coming, Archery Tournament April 1,2,& 3 -- Air Show May 14`h
attended a North East Trail Meeting Trail de Paris is a linear park
e. Motion to adjourn made by Glee Emmite, Second by Missy Starnes Motion carried. at 5:15pm
