09 - HOME GRANT PROGRAMItem No. 9
memorandum
TO: Mayor & City Council
FROM: John Godwin, City Manager
SUBJECT: HOME GRANT PROGRAM
DATE: April 6, 2016
BACKGROUND: Paris has participated in the HOME program for many years, demolishing
substandard homes and replacing them with new ones. This is one of the best grant programs we
offer, simultaneously enhancing local housing stock while improving the quality of life for
citizens each year.
STATUS OF ISSUE: State and federal regulations require that the city council periodically pass
a resolution authorizing the city's participation in the program and also authorizing the city
manager to execute agreements as required. We typically achieve our required local match
through waiving of fees, in -kind work, etc.
BUDGET: Funding is available.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve attached resolution.
