2016-013 - Private re-sale of six tracts of trustee tax properties (City of Paris, Block 118, Lots 15, 17-A, Pt. 17, and 18-20)RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -013 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRIVATE RE -SALE OF SIX TRACTS OF TRUSTEE TAX PROPERTIES TO MR. STEVEN LANDERS FOR $1,000.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE DEEDS WHEREAS, 58 tracts of real property (the "Trustee Properties ") were bid off to the City of Paris as Trustee for itself, Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College at a public tax sale conducted on February 2, 2016; and WHEREAS, Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(i) provides that the Trustee Properties may be sold by private sale in lieu of a public sale under Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(c) & (d) with the approval of all taxing units entitled to receive proceeds from the sale, being the City of Paris, Paris Junior College, Lamar County, and Paris ISD; and WHEREAS, Private offers to purchase six of the Trustee Properties have been received by the City of Paris (the "Private Sale "); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the City Council of Paris, Texas, that: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The offer of Mr. Steven Landers to purchase the following Trustee Properties (the "Re -Sale Properties ") for $1,000.00 is accepted and the Private Sale is hereby approved: • LCAD No. 15934 - CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 118, LOT 15 • LCAD No. 15936 - CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 118, LOT 17 -A • LCAD No. 15937 - CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 118, LOT PT 17 • LCAD No. 15938 - CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 118, LOT 18 • LCAD No. 15939 - CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 118, LOT 19 • LCAD No. 15940 - CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 118, LOT 20 Section 3. Subject to the Private Sale also being approved by Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a tax deed conveying the Re- Sale Properties to the Purchaser or designee. Section 4. The proceeds of the Private Sale shall be distributed in accordance with the Texas Property Tax Code and the orders of the District Courts of Lamar County, Texas.
