02/18/2016 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN STREET PARIS, TEXAS THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2016 5:30 O'CLOCK PM The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Dennis Ashby, Chairman, at 5: 30 p. m. A. The following members were present: Dennis Ashby, Tim Bullock, Anna Spencer, Gary Tolleson, Paula Portugal, Chris Fitzgerald and Matt Birch. B. Also present: John Godwin, City Manager; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; Stephanie Harris, Interim City Attorney; A.J. Hashmi, M.D., Mayor; and Ashley Fendley, City Staff. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (January 21, 2016) Motion was made by Tim Bullock, seconded by Anna Spencer and Gary Tolleson to approve the minutes from January 21, 2016 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. Chris Fitzgerald arrived at 5:32p.m. 3. Report from Jerry Richey, Airport Manager. Jerry Richey, Airport Manager stated he has awarded Ray's Tree Service the mowing bid out at the Airport. Mr. Richey further stated that Everett Toyota has been in contact with him about putting a courtesy car out at the Airport. If this happens the car will be wrapped in Everett Toyota vinyl for pilots to use when they fly in. 4. Discussion regarding the Air Show for 2016 Jerry Richey, Airport Managar stated that Donna Chapman owner of Harley Davidson Shop has agreed upon/collected around $30,000 dollars in donations for the Air Show on May 14, 2016. Mr. Richey further stated there will be about ten performers. John Godwin, City Manager stated that we are glad to have Kate Kyer helping with the event. Mrs. Kyer has taken on the majority of the work getting the performers and air boss for our event. Jerry Richey stated that they will be creating a facebook page for Wings Over Paris to spread the word of the event. The Airport Advisory Board was very pleased to see how much has been accomplished with the Air Show. 5. Discussion regarding Erik Zarones Hangar Lease. John Godwin, City Manager stated that we have been contacted by Mr. Zarones requesting to revise his current lease agreement. Ashley Fendley, City Staff stated Mr. Zarones wants to add a 10 year extension to the end of his lease agreement since he doesn't have the opportunity to extend. Mr. Godwin stated normally the lease has the opportunity to extend the lease agreement once the initial term is complete, in Mr. Zarones case it's not. Mr. Godwin further stated that he recommends the Airport Advisory Board to approve the request to revise his current lease agreement to add an extension. The Airport Advisory Board had questions regarding the issue. Motion was made by Tim Bullock, seconded by Matt Birch to approve the request for an extension. Motion carried 7 -0. 6.
