Meeting Minutes
April 20, 2016
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:OOpm Connie
Dodd.
Attendance:
Board members in attendance were Connie Dodd, Carol James, Rebecca Umphrey, Daisy Harvill,
Denise Kornegay, director Priscilla McAnally, and Matt Frierson, Paris City Council liaison to the
Library Advisory Board. Absent were Fran Neeley and Mike Pendleton.
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the March meeting were unanimously approved as presented.
I. New Business:
Terms expiring. Two board members' terms will expire on June 30 — Connie Dodd and
Carol James. Both can reapply for the Board at the City Clerk's office.
II. Old Business:
Policy revisions update. Priscilla reported that the policy updates are complete. The last few
updates were with the policies for Interlibrary Loan, Conduct, Prohibited Weapons, and
Personal Property.
III. Presentations
a. Budget Report. Expenditures are on target for this year with $21,585 left in the
materials budget.
b. Statistical Report. Slight decreases again this month in Circulation (- 4.46 %) and
Visits (- 9.96 %). Increases were in juvenile book circulation, downloadable audios,
reserves, Interlibrary Loans, and Fregal Music downloads and streaming.
IV. Friends of the Library:
No report
V. Director's Remarks:
Musician Danny Santos will be passing through Paris in September and has contacted the
library about holding a concert at the library. There isn't sufficient space in the library to
for this event but the director will contact Mr. Santos about the cost of holding a
songwriting workshop instead.
