QRDINANCE N0. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION #1 OF ORDINANGE NQ. 1271 OF THE <br />SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COM4uIERCIAI: RATES TO BE CHARGED BY <br />UJNE STAR GNS CO MPANYt AND AMENDING SAID SECTION #1 OF ORDINANCE N0. <br />1271 WHICH WE1S APPROVED BY THE CITY GUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAFiI5 ON <br />OCTOBER 13, 1952; AND REPEALING OFtDINANCE NC}. 14240 <br />THAT WHEREAS, the Lone Star Gas Corapany was heretofore granted <br />a franchise, and a Schedule of Rates was heretofore, on October 130 <br />1952, approved by the City Council of the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, said Schedule of Rates, as shown in Section #1 of <br />Ordinance No. 1271, did not provide for any charge for inaugurating or <br />reinaugurating gas service; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lone Star Gas Company has heretofore reqtxested <br />that such Section #1 of Ordinance No. 1271 be amended to provide for <br />such inauguration or reinauguration of gas service to residential and <br />commercial customers; and, <br />WHEREAS, same has beon heaxd by the City Council on several <br />occasions heretofore, and the matter has been thoroughly investigated <br />by the City Council; NUW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT ORDATNED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />That Section #1 of Ordinance No. 1271 of rates for residential <br />and commercial users of gas, as approved by the City Council of the City <br />of Paris on October 13, 1952, be, and the same is hereby amended as <br />follows: <br />That the LonE Star Gas Coâ–ºnpany be, and the same is hereby per- <br />mitted to make a charge not to exceed the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) per <br />customex for inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service, except in cases <br />whexe the inauguration or reinauguration is brought about by the gas <br />being cut off for non-payment of the gas bill, and in which instance the <br />Lone Star Gas Company is permitted to charge a fee of One Dollar ($1,00) <br />per customer for inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service. <br />That inauguration orreinauguration af service by the company <br />shall, for the purposes of this ordinance, be deemed to mean the unsealing <br />of a sealed meter or installation of a new meter and turning on of natural <br />gas. <br />That the following classes of customers shall be exempt from the <br />payment of inauguration or reinauguration of the service charge herein <br />provided: <br />1. Customer who has been removed from the <br />accounting records of Lone Star Gas <br />Company as a customer fer a period of <br />more than twelve (12) months. <br />2. Churches, schools, and governmental <br />customers. <br />3. Customers whose service has been <br />interrupted by a disaster ox catas- <br />trophe, including fire, or acts of God. <br />4. New Customers added to the Lone Star <br />Gas Company System in Paris, Texas. <br />5. Builders recea,ving service while building <br />is under construction. <br />
