QRDINANCE N0. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION #1 OF ORDINANGE NQ. 1271 OF THE SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COM4uIERCIAI: RATES TO BE CHARGED BY UJNE STAR GNS CO MPANYt AND AMENDING SAID SECTION #1 OF ORDINANCE N0. 1271 WHICH WE1S APPROVED BY THE CITY GUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAFiI5 ON OCTOBER 13, 1952; AND REPEALING OFtDINANCE NC}. 14240 THAT WHEREAS, the Lone Star Gas Corapany was heretofore granted a franchise, and a Schedule of Rates was heretofore, on October 130 1952, approved by the City Council of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, said Schedule of Rates, as shown in Section #1 of Ordinance No. 1271, did not provide for any charge for inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service; and, WHEREAS, the Lone Star Gas Company has heretofore reqtxested that such Section #1 of Ordinance No. 1271 be amended to provide for such inauguration or reinauguration of gas service to residential and commercial customers; and, WHEREAS, same has beon heaxd by the City Council on several occasions heretofore, and the matter has been thoroughly investigated by the City Council; NUW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDATNED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: That Section #1 of Ordinance No. 1271 of rates for residential and commercial users of gas, as approved by the City Council of the City of Paris on October 13, 1952, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows: That the LonE Star Gas Co►npany be, and the same is hereby per- mitted to make a charge not to exceed the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) per customex for inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service, except in cases whexe the inauguration or reinauguration is brought about by the gas being cut off for non-payment of the gas bill, and in which instance the Lone Star Gas Company is permitted to charge a fee of One Dollar ($1,00) per customer for inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service. That inauguration orreinauguration af service by the company shall, for the purposes of this ordinance, be deemed to mean the unsealing of a sealed meter or installation of a new meter and turning on of natural gas. That the following classes of customers shall be exempt from the payment of inauguration or reinauguration of the service charge herein provided: 1. Customer who has been removed from the accounting records of Lone Star Gas Company as a customer fer a period of more than twelve (12) months. 2. Churches, schools, and governmental customers. 3. Customers whose service has been interrupted by a disaster ox catas- trophe, including fire, or acts of God. 4. New Customers added to the Lone Star Gas Company System in Paris, Texas. 5. Builders recea,ving service while building is under construction.
