The reason the fees were refunded was not that they should not have
been paid, however, but the mistaken belief by the city that no sewer service was being provided (since
the original connection was completed without the city's knowledge or permission).
In March of this year, a letter was sent to the Striplands advising them they would again be assessed a
sewer charge since they do use the city's sewer service. They contend they should not be assessed a full
fee since they had to pay for some of their own infrastructure, and have indicated to Gene Anderson that
$25.00 per month might be more appropriate than the currently charged monthly average of $31.36.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
EXHIBITS:
ACTION:
Financial Report
F-I Department Report
F~ Presentation
F-I Public Hearing
FiscAL NoTES:
Z Minute Order
F-I Resolution
❑ Ordinance
❑ Other
BUDGET INFO:
Expense $
Budgeted Amt. $
YTD Actual $
Acct.
