around this piece property. <br />B. Five individuals spoke in opposition. <br />Shane Bolton, 1370 N.E. 27th Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the <br />petition. Mr. Bolton stated to allow this zoning change would be spot zoning, it <br />would change the quality of the neighborhood and it would create traffic issues for <br />the children and residents in the neighborhood. Mr. Bolton stated that this zoning <br />change is a contradiction to the Zoning Ordinance 1710 Section 2 -100 The <br />Purpose. Mr. Bolton further stated we the citizen have created a petition to not <br />except this zoning change and hope the planning and zoning commission will deny <br />the request. <br />Janna Bolton, 1370 N.E. 27th Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the <br />petition. Mrs. Bolton stated that she believes this is spot zoning and has traffic <br />concerns. <br />Dwan Smith, 1345 N.E. 27th Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the <br />petition. Mr. Smith stated that he had traffic concerns with placing a duplex on this <br />property. <br />Kenette Smith, 1345 N.E. 27th Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the <br />petition. Mrs. Smith stated that she has concerns with placing a two -story duplex on <br />this property. Mrs. Smith further stated there are more vacant lots around this area <br />and if the commission approved this request what would stop other individual from <br />requesting to build more duplexes. <br />Chad Thurman, 1350 N.E. 27th Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the <br />petition. Mr. Thurman stated that he had safety and traffic concerns. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Holland Harper, seconded by John Lee to deny the petition. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of the City of Paris, to <br />delete, modem, and add certain land uses in the Central Area Zoning District in the Paris, <br />Texas Zoning Ordinance No. 1710. <br />John Lee stated that on Exhibit "A" (III) Definition for Columbarium needs to be changed. <br />Mr. Lee stated that interment needs to read inurnment. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />
