MINUTES REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN STREET PARIS, TEXAS MONDAY, JUNE 6, 2016 5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, June 6, 2016, was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Holland Harper, Chairman. A. The following members were present: Holland Harper, John Lee, Jerry Akers, Barney Bray, Mike Folmar and Robert Spain B. Also present were Alan Efrussy, Planning Manager; Shane Grissom, Engineering Technician; Stephanie Harris, City Attorney; Carla Easton, City Engineer; Clyde Crews, Fire Marshal; Steve Clifford, City Council; Ashley Fendley, Secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission and Concerned Citizens. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (April 4, 2016) Motion was made by John Lee, seconded by Jerry Akers to approve minutes for the April 4, 2016 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. 3. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of Franz Thiessen on behalf of Lee Larue Trustee Estate of Billy Larue for a change in zoning from Commercial District (C) and Single- Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Commercial District (C) with a Specific Use Permit (55 -Self StoragelMini Warehouse), on Lot 10, of City Block 316, being located at 3380 N.E. Loop 286 Public hearing was declared open. A. One individual spoke in favor. Franz Thiessen, 4015 Miranda Drive, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Thiessen stated that he wants to construct mini - storage warehouses on the back part of the property and a fitness center in the front. Mr. Thiessen stated that he will be installing a privacy fence, greenery and lighting for the mini - storage warehouses. Mr. Thiessen further stated that there will be a storm water detention area in the middle of the property. B. No one spoke in opposition.
