B. Two individuals spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Sue Banks, 3450 Robin Road Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mrs. <br />Banks stated that she has lived at her residence for thirty -eight years and wants to <br />keep the neighborhood clean. Mrs. Banks stated that there are already safety issues <br />in this location with traffic. Mrs. Banks stated she believes that the sign would <br />make the safety issues worse. <br />Ray Banks, 3450 Robin Road Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mr. <br />Banks stated that the existing billboards that are not up to code per the new <br />ordinance are grandfathered in. Mr. Banks stated that he believes that the city has <br />ordinance for reasons and the he hopes the board denies the application. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Louise Hagood, seconded by David Hamilton to deny the variance <br />request. Motion carried 2 -1, with Marilyn Smith in opposition. <br />This vote does not meet the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Paris, <br />Section 16 -300, and therefore is not a final determination.
