THE FIREFIGHTERS CONTEND THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS TURNOVER PROBLEM IN THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT AND THAT WE ARE LOSING EMPLOYEES TO OTHER CITIES WHO PAY MORE. <br />IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS AVERAGED A LOSS OF ONLY 2 <br />FIREFIGHTERS PER YEAR FOR ALL REASONS, INCLUDING RETIREMENT, CHANGE OF CAREER, <br />AND TERMINATIONS, AS WELL AS LEAVING TO GO ELSEWHERE. <br />(EXHIBIT M) <br />THERE IS SUCH A DESIRE TO SERVE AS A FIREFIGHTER THAT, DURING THE LAST EXAM HELD <br />TO FILL OPEN POSITIONS WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, THERE WAS AN AVERAGE OF 32 <br />PERSONS PER 1 POSITION WHO TOOK THE EXAM. <br />(EXHIBIT N) <br />WHAT ARE THE WORKING CONDITIONS OF THE PARIS FIRE DEPARTMENT?
