Regular Council Meeting <br />August 8, 2016 <br />Page 4 <br />drive by the site and saw no activity and that he left a message. He said as soon as he heard <br />something, he would inform Council. Mr. Paris also said once he finds out what is going on, <br />they may want to discontinue carrying the $250,000. <br />17. Receive progress report drainage work. <br />Mayor Hashmi said that he took a tour with the city manager and public works director, <br />and that public works and Ray's Tree Service were doing a great job. Public Works Director <br />Jerry McDaniel said they had six crews with Ray's Tree Service and presented to Council a <br />hand -out outlining the work that had been done and a proposed timeline of upcoming work. He <br />told Council as they were grubbing, they had been able to identify some major issues and that <br />they were spraying in bottom areas where suitable. Mr. McDaniel said up to date they had spent <br />approximately $300,000. Council Member Drake said she was the one who had requested this <br />item and that in two weeks she was amazed how much work had been done. She said would like <br />to get this type of report once a month. Mr. Godwin said staff would get a report to them once a <br />month. <br />18. Consider and approve future events for City Council and /or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004 -081. <br />Council Member Frierson said a few of the Council and staff took the scheduled tour of <br />the KC Plant, and it was an eye opening experience. <br />19. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Council Member <br />Frierson and was seconded by Council Member Drake. I tion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays.
