Mr. Keywood stated he believes it would enhance the area and make it <br />safer. <br />Pat Murphy, 2523 CR 13200, Blossom, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />Murphy stated the flood issues will be handled in the permitting process with a <br />detention pond of some sort. Mr. Murphy further stated that there is no evidence of <br />causing loss in value for building apartments. <br />Mack Ross, 3465 Reno Drive, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Ross <br />stated that he has lived in Paris for over 40 years. Mr. Ross further stated this is one <br />of the two lots left on 20th Street for further development. Mr. Ross stated that he <br />would rather see apartment's versus duplexes. Mr. Ross further stated with <br />apartments you would only have one tap and not multiple taps. <br />Todd Stephens, 2910 Meandering Way, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Mr. Stephens stated that he is Jerry and Lynda Stephens son. Mr. Stephens stated <br />that his parents have had this property for over 40 years and are just trying to sell <br />the property. Mr. Stephens further stated this would be a great development for the <br />City. <br />Billy Trenado, 930 Jefferson Road, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of petition. Mr. <br />Trenado stated that he wishes the commission will approve the change in zoning. <br />Richard Drake, 6090 HWY 271, Powderly, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Mr. Drake stated that to build the apartments they will have to meet all the codes <br />and permit requirements. Mr. Drake further stated that he is for the change in <br />zoning. <br />Sara Eatherly, 4134 Primrose Lane, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. <br />Eatherly stated she has been listening to what everyone has to say about the water <br />issues, sidewalks, streets and other issues. Ms. Eatherly stated that this is a City <br />issue not Jerry and Lynda Stephens's fault they are just trying to sell the property. <br />Ms. Eatherly further stated that these questions can be answered by the City of Paris <br />Engineering Department. <br />Sophia Valasquez, of Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. Valasquez <br />stated she would like to be removed from the petition for denial and would like to <br />see this development. <br />B. Six individuals spoke in opposition. <br />
