Regular Council Meeting <br />December 12, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />Louise Moseley, 3915 Shannon Drive — she said she found herself in the same <br />predicament and was forced to pay $620.00 to a plumber to get inspections done after turning the <br />gas off for the summer. <br />Jim Bell, 2221 Lamar Avenue — he said there was too much red tape and anything that <br />could be done to help citizens should be done. <br />B. Recognition of Amanda Willows and Coleman Morris for their leadership in <br />raising funds to purchase lifesaving equipment as part of the Lamar County <br />Adopt -A -Cop Program. <br />Chief Hundley informed the public that Amanda Willows and Coleman Morris were <br />instrumental in raising donations to provide every peace officer in Lamar County with an armor <br />vest capable of stopping high powered rifle rounds, as well as a ballistic helmet for eachofficer. <br />Mayor Hashmi presented Ms. Willows and Mr. Morris with certificates of appreciation. <br />Council Member Frierson arrived at 5:40 p.m. <br />Consent Agenda <br />Mayor Hashmi inquired of Council Members if they wished to pull any items from the <br />consent agenda for discussion. Council Member Lancaster asked for discussion on item 9. She <br />inquired about efforts of the badly dilapidated houses around the West Trail. City Manager John <br />Godwin said that was a priority recently given to Robert Talley. <br />A Motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Council Member Lancaster and <br />seconded by Council Member Clifford. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. <br />5. Approve minutes from the meeting on November 14, 2016. <br />6. Receive reports and/or minutes from the following boards, commissions, and committees: <br />a. Planning & Zoning Commission (10 -17 -2016) <br />b. Airport Advisory Board (8 -18 -2016 & 9 -15 -2016) <br />c. Main Street Advisory Board (9 -13 -2016) <br />d. Paris Public Library Advisory Board (10 -19 -2016) <br />e.
