He also said <br />they were not fixated on the streets listed and he was fine with $10 million. Mayor Hashmi said <br />the City was in a fortunate situation. Council Member Drake said she had been contacted by <br />citizens who were for and who were against this, although both sides said something needed to <br />be done. Council Member Frierson asked if this was a maintenance issue and if it was budgeted. <br />Mr. Godwin said maintenance projects were in the budget, such as chip seal and the budget was <br />around $460,000 for that. <br />Citizen Don "Pinky" Wilson said if they issue certificates of obligation, they would be <br />raising the taxes without a vote of the citizens. He invited Connell Members to go with him and <br />look at streets. He asked they consider overlay of streetsch was a lot less expensive.
