MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2013 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Rick Hundley, Chairman, at <br />12:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Rick Hundley <br />Jerry Haning <br />Charles Richards <br />Bryan Glass <br />David Hamilton <br />Nathan J. Bell V <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Marilyn Smith <br />C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and <br />Development; and Ashley Fendley, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (May 7, 2013) <br />Motion was made by Bryan Glass, seconded by Nathan J. Bell V to approve minutes for the <br />June 2, 2013 meeting, with corrections. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition Texas Pro Signs on Lot 1, <br />Block A, of the Mirabeau Square 287 Addition, being located at 3594 Lamar Avenue. To <br />grant a variance of Section 28 -23(2) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "If the <br />leased or occupied fascia length has multiple frontages, an attached sign may be placed on <br />each frontage in a size not to exceed one(]) square foot offace area per front foot of leased <br />or occupied fascia length; however, signs located on the back of a development shall be <br />limited to one (1) square foot of face area per back foot of leased or occupied fascia length <br />not to exceed thirty - two (32) square feet, whichever is smaller. " The lease space is <br />20 feet wide. The maximum allowable signage is therefore 20 square feet per frontage <br />(40 square foot total). The applicant is asking for 29.5 square feet of sign area on both the <br />front and rear of the building (59 square foot total). The variance request is for 19 square <br />feet. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />
