Bell V to approve the variance <br />request. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition Guy Slimp (Food Fast <br />Corporation) on Lot 1, Block A, of the CEFCO #1097 Addition, being located at 3750 <br />Lamar Avenue. To grant a variance of Section 28 -8(h) of the Sign Ordinance which <br />provides that "total sign face area of all permanent signs combined on one property, <br />including ground signs, pole signs, attached signs, etc. shall not exceed one (1) square foot <br />per front foot of property line, or maximum of the three hundred (300) square feet, at any <br />time. " The lot width is 289 feet. The maximum allowable signage is therefore 289 <br />square feet. The applicant is asking for 342 square feet, which is a 53 square foot <br />variance over the maximum allowable signage. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Guy Slimp, representing the Food Fast Corporation, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Mr. Slimp stated that he was seeking approval for a variance to allow 53 square feet <br />over the maximum allowable signage. <br />B. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />5. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition Jesse Fleming on Lot 3, <br />Block E, of the Suburban Estates, being located at 1125 Mockingbird Lane. <br />A. To grant a variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 15 -102 which provides "If <br />a structure occupied by a nonconforming use is destroyed by fire, the elements or <br />other cause, it may not be rebuilt except to conform to the provisions of this <br />ordinance. In the case of partial destruction of a nonconforming use not exceeding <br />seventy -five (75) percent of its reasonable value, reconstruction will be permitted <br />but the size or function of the nonconforming use cannot be expanded. " The house <br />was burned more than 75 percent. <br />
