Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Johnny Norris to accept <br />Robert Talley recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5 -0 <br />Don Wilson explained to Mr. and Mrs. Pruitte if they didn't agree with the <br />Commission's motion that they can appeal. They were directed to talk to <br />Stephanie Harris (Assistant City Attorney) for direction on how to appeal. <br />Request was made by Robert Talley to move to item 3. G., 35 Drive -In Ave, City of <br />Paris, Block 251, Lot 17 <br />G. 35 Drive -In Ave, City of Paris, Block 251, Lot 17 <br />Owner: Daisy Grays, 2535 701h Ave. SW Trlr 35, Tumwater, WA 98512 <br />No back taxes owed <br />Present: Daisy Grays <br />Robert Talley explained the reason he brought this case back to the commission is <br />that Ms. Grays explained that the mailbox on the post office side was jammed and <br />she was unable to receive her mail for a while. Mr. Talley confirmed this with the <br />post office. The original Building and Standard order was demo in 90 days. <br />Robert Talley said the structure is unsecure, holes in the roof, deterioration and <br />rotted, has overgrown vegetation, tin is peeling, large holes in roof, and was <br />related to a fire in the past. Daisy Grays handed out a proposal to the Building and <br />Standards Commission. She explained that her boyfriend does demo's for a <br />living. She bought the property after the fire and has lots of medical problems and <br />is now getting better. Ms. Grays asked for 90 days to repair. Don Wilson asked <br />Ms. Grays what her plans for the building are and Ms. Grays responded that they <br />would like to have a storage building facility for when they retire. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Chris Brown, seconded by Wendell Moore to allow Ms. <br />Grays 90 days for repair of the structure. Motion carried unanimously. 5 -0 <br />Chris Brown left the meeting at 4:04pm. <br />Request was made by Robert Talley to move to item 5. <br />5. Discussion of selling the property at 1035 W Houston. <br />Owner: Jackie Jones <br />Buyer: Steve Helms 640 S Hwy 24S Paris, TX 75462 <br />Robert Talley stated that the original order for this property was 90 days to repair <br />and this was not done so on 5/10/13 the property was re- submitted to the <br />commission and an order of demolition for 30 days was ordered. Since this order <br />Steve Helm has asked to buy this property. Mr. Helm is a carpenter and wants to <br />fix the house to rent. <br />Don Wilson asked if the Commission lifts the demo order if Mr. Helm can get the <br />repairs done within 90 days. Steve Helm stated that he could do the repairs once <br />
