Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Vicky Ballard to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation for the property owner to demolish the <br />property in 30 days, if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a <br />$1000 per day civil penalty to the property. Motion carried unanimously. 4 -0 <br />D. 440 NW 13t', Gorham Addition, Block 1, Lot 4 <br />Owner: Darin Crites, 1355 Sperry Ave., Paris, TX 75460 <br />$377.93 in back taxes owed. <br />Robert Talley stated that Charles Rudd contacted him saying that he purchased <br />this property and he was going to try and attend the meeting but he was a truck <br />driver and was working out of town. Mr. Talley informed the commission that <br />the dogs that were kept in the house have been removed. Mr. Talley showed <br />pictures of the support on the side porch missing, that the house is unsecure and <br />that the back of the structure is falling in. Someone has begun to demolish the <br />house, there are no doors or windows in the back of the structure and because of <br />this and the missing porch support the house is a danger. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Vicky Ballard to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation for the property owner to demolish the <br />property in 30 days, if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a <br />$1000 per day civil penalty to the property. Motion carried unanimously. 4 -0 <br />The Commission expressed a concern due to the dangerous nature of this <br />structure and asked that it be moved up on the demolition list once the 30 <br />days have expired. <br />5. Code Enforcement update. <br />(1.) Changes have been made to the spreadsheet so that the print is bigger and <br />easier to read. The property owners name and the ID# have been removed from <br />the report. <br />(2.) Question was asked about the old Bell Building. Robert Talley stated that <br />Chip Harper has hired someone to immediately start working on clean up and <br />repair of where the roof had fallen in. <br />(3) Mr. Talley stated that 103 structures have been demolished so far this <br />year. <br />(4) 808 Pine Bluff: the Fire Department checked the roof and saw no holes or <br />leaks. The owner has secured it. A question was asked by the commission as to <br />if the structure was vacant or not as they have driven by and seen cars parked <br />there.
